Dubai Golf Green Fees Explained

Green fees in Dubai are not a single number. The same tee time at the same course can cost AED 1,600 on a January Saturday morning and AED 395 on a July evening. Once you understand the four variables that drive pricing, you can play the best courses in the region for close to European municipal money.

The four things that set the price

  1. 01Season. November to February is peak. June to September can be 60–70 percent cheaper.
  2. 02Time of day. Morning is most expensive, midday is cheapest in winter, twilight is cheapest in summer.
  3. 03Residency. UAE residents with a club card or a Dubai Golf membership pay substantially less than walk-up visitors.
  4. 04Day of week. Friday and Saturday carry a weekend premium; Monday to Wednesday is where value lives.

Always confirm at booking

These are indicative ranges we track for editorial purposes, not quotes. Clubs adjust pricing dynamically and add cart, caddie and service charges separately.

What is included — and what is not

  • Cart: usually included at premium clubs, sometimes AED 100–150 extra elsewhere
  • Caddie: AED 150–250 plus tip, optional at most clubs
  • Range balls: often included in the green fee, sometimes a separate AED 50–75
  • Club rental: AED 250–450 for a premium set — worth it if you are flying in for two rounds
  • VAT: 5 percent, usually shown in the quoted price

Five habits that halve your cost

  1. 01Book Tuesday or Wednesday. The same course, the same conditioning, often 30 percent less than Saturday.
  2. 02Take the last two hours of daylight. Twilight rates are the single largest discount available, and you finish in the best light of the day.
  3. 03If you live here, do the maths on a golf card. Two rounds a month makes most Dubai golf cards pay for themselves within a season.
  4. 04Play the shoulder months. March, April, May and October give you close to peak conditioning at mid-season pricing.
  5. 05Book direct. Aggregators occasionally beat club pricing, but clubs almost always control the best twilight inventory.

Memberships and golf cards

If you are resident and play more than twice a month, the calculation changes completely. Full club memberships at the marquee venues run well into five figures annually plus joining fees, but multi-course golf cards and corporate schemes sit far lower and typically deliver discounted rates across a group of courses rather than unlimited play at one.

The honest rule of thumb: under twenty rounds a year, pay as you play and hunt twilight. Between twenty and forty rounds, a golf card. Above forty rounds, membership starts to make financial as well as social sense.

Frequently asked questions

Why is golf so expensive in Dubai?
Water, turf management and cooling. Keeping championship turf alive through a 45°C summer costs a great deal, and that cost sits inside the green fee. Courses also operate at high service levels — carts, caddies, ranges and clubhouses are all included in the pricing model.
What is the cheapest way to play golf in Dubai?
Summer twilight, midweek, booked direct with the club. That combination routinely delivers championship courses for AED 300–500. Nine-hole and academy courses sit lower again.
Are Dubai golf memberships worth it?
Above roughly forty rounds a year, yes. Between twenty and forty rounds, a multi-course golf card usually beats a full membership on pure cost. Below that, pay as you play.
